5 years with SASS

Benny Schmitt has spent the past 15 years skiing the mountains that surround Lake Tahoe. After joining us in Argentina as a client, he fell in with the crew and hasn’t looked back since. As a guide at SASS Japan, he makes everyone jealous of his short stature which allows him to truly experience the depth of the snow and spends most of the time parting the snow with his chin. He will entertain you on the skin track or lift and constantly stoke the flame of your love for sliding on snow with his own excitement to simply be in the mountains every day. He skis professionally for Lib-Tech, Smith Optics, Strafe Outerwear, BCA, Sierra at Tahoe, and Leki Poles. He has completed his AIARE Level II Avalanche Training Course and is Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certified. During the off-season, he is a boat captain on Lake Tahoe and one hell of a waterskier.
