PETE CONNOLLY – Mountain Operations Director / Guide
Pete Connolly has had his hand in just about every aspect of SASS at one point or another. Mountain Operations Director down in Argentina and Japan, “Sneaky” Pete is always down to keep skiing, hike farther and show those looking for a soul-shred mission what that really means. A professional mountain guide with extensive experience in both hemispheres, Pete will be in charge of finding the terrain that you have always dreamed of in Japan and helping you to minimize the risks that such terrain entails.

GARRETT RUSSELL – Guide
The Garrett Russell Experience. An adventure that’s kept people coming back for more. While he wouldn’t want us to say it, Garrett inspires people to take a different view on life and how sweet it is on a pair of skis. Garrett is stoked in every moment of skiing, especially in Japan, and approaches backcountry riding in a completely different way. You’ve seen him in the videos – now get The Experience. Learn what it truly means to have fun on skis from this SASS Argentina legend, now taking his unique brand of guiding to Japan. Garrett noseblocks and pow slashes for Line skis, Full Tilt boots, Dakine, Smith Optics and Marker bindings.

GABE CIAFRE – Guide
Gabe started with the SASS Family by showing up in Argentina one year. After realizing that he is one of the best traveling companions there is, we invited him to join us for our discover trip to Japan. Proving himself more than useful on snow and off, he joins us for his third year in the land of the rising sun. Spending the rest of his season in Alaska, Gabe knows what big mountains are, but loves the connection to the snow and deeply appreciates the Japanese take on snowboarding.

GUTS HIDETAKA – Guide
Guts has two girlfriends, the mountains and the ocean. A local to Hokkaido, Guts joins SASS Japan for his second year after being consistently the most requested guide. His love for the mountains and for sharing his country with snow-minded travelers is contagious. His knowledge of the terrain has developed over a life-time and he is truly one of the greatest resources we have. Whether he is showing you to a secret stash of his, or to his favorite sushi restaurant, you are guaranteed to have fun. Just maybe not as much fun as Guts is having himself. Guts is a surfer-turned-snowboarder and it comes through in his style. He is all about the turn and will show you exactly what that means.

LUCAS MOORE – Program Director / Guide
Lucas Moore is pure energy, his relentless non-stop movement sets the tone for the Japan experience. Program director in Argentina as well, his hyper focus, dancing, and party boy music make “The Lucas” a fan favorite and one of the reasons almost all of our clients return. “El Mas Blanco” heads up site operations, systems, client management, event planning; really all the things you’d expect of a Cruise Director, but just a little less tasteful. Even with all his responsibilities he is on mountain with a group every day. Argentina in the summer, Japan in the winter and Puerto Rico the rest of the time, he is a local wherever he goes…

DAVID BURG – General Manager / Logistics Specialist
David has been working on making the SASS Global Travel Japan experience a reality since we met him in Argentina four years ago. His understanding of adventure travel and the logistics necessary to make your experience as smooth as possible are rivaled by very, very few. David is the man behind the scenes and will be your go-to resource for all enjoyment off-mountain. David is one of the hardest workers in hospitality and makes it his goal to make your trip exactly the way you want it. A damn decent skier and the guy you want on your side in any foreign country. David is the essence of what makes SASS Global Travel stand high above the competition.

TRAVIS MOORE – Managing Director
Travis is the voice on the other end of the phone at SASS Global Travel. His infectious attitude pushes SGT towards our boards and skis during the day and our computers at night. You are going to have a hard time keeping up with his stoke every day in Japan. A seasoned snowboard coach and purhapse everyones favorite shred partner, T will be with us for our small group adventures. He is currently Raising his beautiful daughters with his wife Asia and his pair of medium sized angels (Argentine street dogs) so you can expect him to be ready to charge as soon as he sets foot in Japan.
