8 years with SASS

Jon Conway started out as our cinematographer years ago but redirected his career to guiding. Since then, he has worked hard to become a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association and Canadian Ski Guides Association level II. He spent a few seasons guiding in Japan on Honshu (the main island) and has since started guiding full time at Powder Mountain Heli-Skiing and Catskiing in Whistler, Canada. Jon is truly one of the most graceful snowboarders there is, can land pretty much anything with his guide pack on and has a genuine love of the mountains that he shares with every person in his groups. This light-hearted, but highly professional Canadian is an asset both on the mountain and around the lodge where he will happily discuss avalanche safety, backcountry skills or videography with anyone curious enough to ask. Jon has his Canadian Avalanche Association Operations Level 2, Canadian Ski Guides Association Level 2, Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certificate, CSGA Summer Glacier Skills Certificate, CAA Avalanche Search and Rescue, CAA Advanced Weather certificate, CAA Avalanche Control Blasting certificate, Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors Level 2 certification and is an AST Provider.
