Every year after returning from Argentina in the fall, SASS Global Travel hits the road on an tour covering the East Coast and Colorado and stopping at nearly 50 ski, snowboard and surf events as well as dozens of high schools and colleges. SGT uses its energetic, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic staff to make lasting impressions on a broad audience both for its surf and snow trips as well as its partners listed below.
SIERRA NEVADA COLLEGE
Sierra Nevada College, a four-year liberal arts college in Lake Tahoe, has been an integral part of the SASS Argentina experience for three years now. SASS Global Travel represents the College on the tour by educating high school students about the College and college students about their travel study opportunities with SNC and SASS Global Travel. SGT has referred dozens of students to Sierra Nevada College over the course of its tour.
RED PROTECTION // ANON OPTICS
RED Protection is the official helmet of SASS Global Travel, and Anon Optics its official goggle and eyewear partner. SGT works to represent both brands on its grassroots East Coast tour visiting ski, snowboard, and surf events as well as high schools and college, giving the brands a powerful, entertaining, on the ground presence in the Northeast.
LAN AIRLINES
LAN Airlines is the official airline of SASS Argentina, and provides discounted airfare rates to SASS clients all the way to Bariloche. SASS Global Travel has educated thousands of adventure travelers about LAN over the course of its tour, increasing its brand presence in the high-value Northeast corridor.
DAKINE
Dakine has been a supporter of SASS since its inception in 2004 and has provided the program with tons of soft goods, packs, and accesories for its tour in exchange for grass-roots representation on the SGT tour. The Dakine x SASS collaboration backpacks and mittens (available in our store) have been a centerpiece of the tour for years, and are frequently the most anticipated raffle prize at each stop.
STEEZ MAGAZINE
The boys and girls at Steez Magazine have slowly worked up become one of the East Coast’s most powerful action sports magazines. With a 100% grassroots attitude led by Andy Bablo & co., Steez has pushed ground-level events like the Industry Dodgeball tournament, out-of-control Mountains of Steez, and the like, all in the name of getting people in the Northeast together who love to shred and have a good time. This camp is nothing but fun, and we’re excited to be working with them in New England.
GOAL ZERO
Goal Zero makes rugged, renewable mobile power solutions for adventurers. SASS Global Travel utilized their Extreme Adventure Kit on this year’s tour, combining an Extreme 350 Power Pack and two Boulder 30M solar panels to power laptops, videos, and audio systems for up to six hours straight while on tour stops, meaning we could set up anywhere on the mountain, campus, or beach without needing a dirty diesel generator to power our display. Goal Zero’s products helped our tour limit its carbon emissions while providing a reliable power source wherever needed.
JEREMY JONES’ DEEPER MOVIE TOUR
Jeremy Jones’ Deeper was a groundbreaking snowboard film, in which big-mountain legend Jeremy Jones used human power in the form of splitboards, snowshoes, and crampons instead of snowmobiles and helicopters to access some truly insane lines from France to Antartica to Alaska. SASS Global Travel was the Grand Prize sponsor, and gave one lucky winner from the movie tour a week at SGT Argentina with airfare from LAN Airlines. The Deeper Tour helped expose the SGT brand to an enormous international audience who wanted to learn more about backcountry snowboarding. We look forward to working further with TGR as they develop the sequels to Deeper, Further and Farther.
MAIN EVENT SNOWBOARD SERIES
The Main Event Snowboard Series is one of the longest-running amateur snowboard contests on the East Coast, having been the proving ground for up-and-coming New England shredders for 8 years now. SASS Global Travel has partnered with the Main Event to provide an all-expenses paid trip to its Bariloche, Argentina operation to the overall points winner – a huge reward for the hardest-working rider each year. This contest is in line with SGT’s root philosophy of supporting action sports and athletes at the ground level.
