2014 Client Travel Planning

The following are important action items that you should have completed before departing for your trip to Argentina. If you have questions or prefer to discuss them by phone, please call us at 800.851.4660.

1. Sign and Submit Forms and Waivers Online.

downloadSome of you have requested these already, and we appreciate your patience while we migrated to our new, entirely online waivers powered by HelloSign. But now, we’re ready to go! We hope you think its worth the wait (and we save a lot of trees). Note: HelloSign emails sometimes get caught in SPAM or Junk Mail filters. Contact us if you have problems.

If you are an Adult Client, click here to access online forms.
If you are an Under-18 Client/Parent, click here to access online forms.

2. Travel Insurance

nomadsMost US insurance policies do not provide medical coverage in Argentina. We recommend World Nomads — specialists in adventure travel insurance. This isn’t a gimmick; we have clients use their travel insurance every year. Not just for medical reasons, but for lost luggage (they cover your rental gear), flight delay-related costs and much more. Also, if you miss days of the program, get injured or can’t attend because of a covered reason, they’ll reimburse you for the days of the program you miss! It’s available to US, Canadian and most international clients. Click Here to get a World Nomads Quote

3. Changes to Argentina “Reciprocity Fee” aka Entry Fee

argentina-entrance-feeThis affects clients traveling on US, Canadian and Australian passports only — and is not a visa. There is no visa application or consular approval process to visit Argentina. But, Argentina charges a “reciprocity fee” upon entry to these citizens. It’s called a “reciprocity fee” because Argentina charges the same amount that each country, in turn, charges Argentines to visit.
Changes for 2014: Visitors that have not already paid the fee are now required to pay the fee online in advance, instead of doing so at the airport. You pay online through their system and print the electronic receipt to show at Immigrations. On the upside, this should speed up the entry process. Click here for more info.

If you’re a US citizen and have already traveled to Argentina in the last four years…

You should have paid the fee and have a sticker in your passport. If you are a US citizen, your sticker is valid for 10 years. In this case, you do not need to register and pay online again! Simply show your sticker to airline or immigrations officials upon request.

If this is your first time to Argentina and/or you’re traveling on a Canadian or Australian passport…

You can complete the process online in less than 15 minutes. The fees range from $75-160 USD, depending on nationality.  Click here for more information about paying the fee.

4. Lodging and Roommate Requests.

Please remember that unless you have reserved a private room or apartment lodging, we have shared living at our Lodge. If you’re a solo traveler, we’ll assign you a room with other people that we think are a good fit, whenever possible. If you’re traveling with friends, we are almost always able to accommodate your specific rooming requests (but it isn’t guaranteed). Please note, we always lodge Under-18 and Adult clients separately.
