The North Coast is becoming increasingly popular for surfing due to its warm waters, minimal crowds, and number of spots both obvious and hidden. Option include several beach breaks at Encuentro (1o minutes from the Porta del Mare) to the seldom-ridden point and reef breaks that you’ll have to come with us to find. While the area is famous for its great kiteboarding conditions, the winds hold off until lunch, meaning glassy, empty morning sessions all over. It’s a fantastic spot for beginners, as well as for those looking for something much more challenging. The local surfers are extremely friendly and will help give you the lay of the waves. The best time of year to surf is from mid-Nov to April.
