If you read our last newsletter, you’d know that Kelly Haddon of Boulder, Colorado won the Grand Prize of the Deeper movie tour – an all-expenses paid trip to our South America Snow Sessions operation in Argentina with roundtrip airfare courtesy of our generous partners at LAN Airlines.  Kelly didn’t believe her fortune at first, but after blowing her up on speakerphone with the whole SGT crew, she had to give in to the reality of her blind luck.

We’re very excited to get Kelly down to SASS this summer and wanted to take a minute to let the world know who this lucky lady is.

Who the heck are you?
I am a 26 year old girl, living in Boulder and loving the outdoors. I ski, run, bike, hike and anything else that takes advantage of the amazing Colorado weather year round. I work for Helly Hansen, I have two dogs and an avid skier boyfriend who is madly jealous of my prize.

How long have you been skiing and where do you ski now?

I didn’t grow up skiing, living in Virginia, but became obsessed once I moved out to CO in my twenties. This season I had the Copper-Winter Park pass but was also able to hit Telluride, Vail and Aspen as well as test out my first few adventures on my new touring set up.

What do you do to keep busy when you’re not skiing?

I like to read, cook, do anything outside, I’m a hairdresser, I like to travel, sew….I have many hobbies

What did you think of Deeper?

I was inspired. I am a big advocate of human powered adventures and was completely blown away by Jones’ drive and attitude.

What did you think when the SASS guys sent you an e-mail telling you you’d won a trip to Argentina?  Disbelief, Nigerian prince scam, or pure joy?

Well I didn’t actually get the first email so I had all my guy friends calling me before I knew anything. Once your crew called me on speaker, I started to believe this craziness was real.

Had you ever thought about skiing in South America before?

Yes. My boyfriend and I have spoken many times about getting down to South America to check out the mountains, but it was always a pipe dream, something we hoped to do someday.

What do you hope to get out of this trip?

I hope to ski powder, see a new country and new mountains, eat new foods, make new friends and have the experience of a lifetime.

Anything else you’d like to say?

I’d like to count my blessings and say cheers to the luck of the Irish.
