8 years with SASS

Chris Coulter has succeeded in just about every realm snowboarding has to offer. As a teenager coming from New Mexico, Chris sprung onto the pro snowboard scene in the 90s with the TechNine crew and gained serious notoriety filming with Absinthe. After transitioning away from the big production filming, Coulter’s desire to stay on snow and in the mountains led him to guiding. After a few summers with us at SASS Argentina as a snowboard coach and guide, he began at Silverton Mountain and has been guiding there for the past 6 seasons. Coulter additionally spends his springs in Haines, Alaska guiding with SEABA Heli. He has spent the past few years exploring the terrain at SASS Chile along side long-time backcounty partner and head guide, Skylar Holgate. His constant drive for self-improvement and thirst for knowledge inspire our entire staff. When he is not on snow he is rock climbing, practicing Jiu-Jitsu, or working on yet another project. Coulter has completed his AIARE Level III Avalanche Training Course, is Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certified and holds his Avalanche Blaster’s License. Coulter Rides professionally for Jones Snowboards, Eddie Bauer, Smith Optics, Spark R&D, Bird Wax and Cheetah Factory Racing (CFR).
