5 years with SASS

David Reichel is one of our American Institute of Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) course instructors at SASS Argentina. David has taught as many AIARE courses as anyone around his home in the Sierras surrounding Lake Tahoe. His relaxed style gives him the ability to answer questions with understanding and compassion while pushing our clients to dive deeper into the knowledge necessary to be successful in the backcountry. On the days that he is not teaching an AIARE course in Argentina, he is guiding groups looking to push into the backcountry and learn new skills through experience. A snowboarder happiest on his splitboard, Reichel is always down to go for a tour and get as deep into the Andes as possible. David is an AIARE Level II Course Leader, has completed his AIARE Level III, is an Avalanche Pro I instructor, is Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certified and is an American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) Guide. He is a Professional Observer at the Sierra Avalanche Center and the Founder of the California Avalanche Workshop.
