ZEAL Week 2018 at SASS Argentina
ZEAL Week 2018 is a collaboration with our partner Zeal Optics that brings their brand of #FindYourZeal to SASS Argentina for a week of shredding with Zeal Athletes Andrew Burns and Piers Solomon, Zeal-centric giveaways and contests, next year product demos and a damn good time. All this in August in the Patagonian Andes with the SASS crew and the SASS Argentina experience of backcountry progression, cultural exploration, and insane big mountain terrain. Chase Josey’s SASS Argentina Experience
Chase Josey is a member of the US Olympic Men’s Halfpipe Team from PyeongChang 2018 and a long-time SASS Family member. After finishing 6th at the Olympics this past winter he will be joining us for his 5th year at SASS Argentina – this time as a Guide Intern. We here at SASS could not be more proud of Chase and it truly gives us goosebumps to hear what he had to say about his years with us and the influence it has had on his snowboarding. Best Asado in Bariloche
We throw the best asado in Bariloche every Thursday night throughout SASS Argentina. The asado is a huge part of Argentinian culture and is the perfect farewell dinner for each session. Slow cooked over hardwood coals throughout the day while everyone is on the hill, this serve-yourself event is a favorite of pretty much everyone. We hang out next to the bonfire, eat a seemingly endless number of different local cuts and finish it off with a round of applause for the asador (Argentinian grill master).

Breweries in Bariloche
The Bariloche Brewery Tour at SASS Argentina is a client favorite. We utilize our local connections and friends to provide a unique and culturally rich experience that takes you on a whirlwind tour of some of the best breweries in Patagonia with a crew of your new friends. There is no better way to finish off a hard day of skiing/riding in the Andes than to try out some local Argentine craft beers that have become increasingly popular in recent years.
Argentina 2017 Recap
SASS Argentina 2017 might just have been our best season to date. The snow in Bariloche during August just kept rolling in and our crews were set up perfectly to take full advantage. As the snow stacked up in the base area, throughout the trees and into the alpine, our options became limitless… Pow days in the trees, natural features straight from the lifts, hike-to glory turns amongst the granite spires and big touring missions off the back resulted in endless smiles, a crazy number of high-fives, whoops, hollers and “best day of my life”s. Skiing in South America during the summer is always a good call, this year with SASS was just more epic than usual.

Interested in learning to splitboard? Look no further. We have teamed up with Jones Snowboards and Spark R&D Bindings to offer the Jones Splitboard Clinic for the past 3 seasons at SASS Argentina. We have more and more clients each year looking to learn to splitboard and pride ourselves in providing the perfect platform. With a full fleet of Jones Splitboards for demo complete with Spark R&D Bindings, we give you the chance to try out splitboarding for the first time on the best equipment available. Learn from our crew of experienced guides that know all of the tricks and tips that will either teach you how to splitboard or take your uphill game to the next level.

YOUR FINAL DESTINATION IS BARILOCHE (BRC) – not Buenos Aires (EZE / AEP). But, most clients will clear customs in Buenos Aires and connect to Bariloche (BRC). Please email your final itinerary to: flights@sassglobaltravel.com

Avoid connections which require you to change airports in Buenos Aires; there are two airports: Pistarini-Ezeiza Int’l Airport (EZE) and J. Newbery Aeroparque (AEP). If you can’t avoid a change in airports, leave at least 4 hours between connections and our team will help arrange ground transportation. The cost is about $50 USD each way.

Our SASS logistics team members will be available to meet clients exiting customs at Buenos Aires – Pistarini-Ezeiza Int’l Airport (EZE) and at Bariloche Airport (BRC) on transfer days.

If you arrive in Argentina at J. Newbery Aeroparque (AEP), or fly directly to Bariloche (BRC) internationally via Brazil, please connect directly to your Bariloche flight and do not wait for SASS staff members. If you are an Under-18 client and have these in your itinerary, email info@sassglobaltravel.com for options.

All of these date suggestions are for clients wishing to arrive at the start of the program and depart at the end of the program. Adult clients wishing to travel independently before or after the program are welcome to arrange stays in Buenos Aires or elsewhere.

BARILOCHE MEET & GREET/TRANSFERS TO CERRO CATEDRAL:
Your SASS program includes airport transfers from Bariloche Int’l Airport (BRC) to our location at Cerro Catedral. We’re typically “on duty” at the airport from 8 AM to 8 PM on arrival days. Please try to have your flights arrive between those times, best times being in the afternoon. Contact us for early or late arrival options.

*Note: Most clients from North America will depart the day before the session begins and fly overnight. For example, a client arriving in Session 1 would likely depart North America on the evening of Friday to arrive in Argentina on Saturday. Always double-check your arrival and departure dates.
