haha ok well im 15 now, but when I was a little I always had bad encounters with snow. I always got hurt. I almost got frost bite when I was 6 years old and I went another time when I was 10 and still had a horible time I kept falling, I was to cold no one was nice, it was terible! and there were plent more but i dont feel like nameing them. ya so i met a friend that snowboards and he invited me to go and I first said no way, because i suck and its not my thing, and the resorts aren’t fun. well he showed me your website and it looked pretty fun so I said ok I’ll give snowboarding one last try. and I got to the resort strapped in took the first lift up the mountain and saw perfect pow pow and I fell in love and everytime I fell people I didnt even know helped me up, so I went home that day and said that was the funnest thing I’ve ever done and after that day snowboarding became my favorite thing in the world to do and I went the next week and the week after that in a row. I loved it sooo much I took all my birthday money, and christmas money and also saved up and purchased my self a 2010 Salomon sanchez board with burton mission bindings even though I was ok not great but I knew I loved it and was gonna keep snowboarding, than I also purchased all my gear a month after that and since thi first time i went to your resort i went up every weekend for months, hah I’m not some rich kid trust me I had to save up and it was around christmas my first time to your resort so dont think i got all this by family hah cause it were me I would by a season pass 4SURE. and thats why I love Mt High resort it made me love snowboarding more than everything I have Mt High stickeres on my binder, door, car. etc I LOVE MT.HIGH and my favorte rider goes there I think you know him MFM hah hes rad I love his style. so thank you for my best hobbie and life style. sincerely Zeke Zielinski

Derek Shields- Why I love Mt. High

I love Mt. High because it’s a close drive from San Diego and the no mountain drive allows my anti snow and ice car to get there. Last time I tried to go to big bear I almost crashed like 20 times from ice on the road, that’s not the case here and the In N Outs along the way are sweet. I also love the shuttles that go to and from east and west and the awesome and friendly staff around the park. I learned to snowboard here and have been coming back for the past two years ever since, it’s been a blast each time and have enjoyed my time spent here. The snow is fluffy and the ramps are awesome, why wouldn’t you love Mt. High?

Anthony Martinez- Why I Love Mountain High!

My name is Anthony, and I just started snowboarding this past season. My friends kept pushing me to go so I decided to go with my family. We went online looking for the closet and cheapest place and Mountain High came up. We took lessons the first time we went then the next time we went I had my own snowboard and bought a Mountain High pass. This year im planning to go every other weekend or every weekend with friends. Mountain High’s staff is excellent and willing to help you. I love Mountain High because they have three different resorts and how close it is to my house. I love you don’t have to worry about going on a road like to Big Bear. Mountain High is the only resort I’ve snowboard at and probably will be the only one in California. The Winter Sports School was great. It wasn’t like they would focus on the good one or the bad one, they help everyone so by the time you leave your better then you started out the day. If your not satisfied which i don’t know how you can’t be satisfied they take action. Just the joy of my family and I driving there and having a blast there then the stories coming are just endless. I love Mountain High so much on my school backpack it reads I rather be snowboarding. Then I have the Mountain High logo. My friends and I want summer to end already and we are not even on summer break. Snowboarding is my favorite sport right next to football. This is why I love my home Mountian, Mountain High.

When I was about five years old i was given my first snowboard, from then on out its been all about it. I started going to bear but somehow faith pushed me towards the most beautiful place in the world in my eyes, Mountain High. Being a girl we have a lot of pressure in life, but when im at high all that goes away. I’ve met the most wonderful people who have became my best friends over the years. They’ve picked me up when I was down and have been teaching me new things about snowboarding everyday. If it wasnt for this mountain who knows where I would be and what kinds of trouble I’d be getting in to. In the end Mountain High is my favorite place in the world because of the atmosphere, nobody judges you and everybody encourgaes you to try a trick you just boofed one more time, it’s rare to find another place like that. Some people don’t see it as we do though. Mountain High is shwag, the parks not even sick, I get alot of B.S. about coming up everyweekend. But honestly, I wouldn’t want any of those people coming up because it would just add negativity and bring down the mountains main purpose. To me it’s more then a mountain, It’s a home.

Mad River Glen offers an unsullied skiing experience, a true outdoor adventure where sport, not money, is king. To those of us who ski it and love it, Mad River Glen is simply the last great place where skiing is stripped to its true essence. It is far more than merely a ski resor; it’s an ideal, a belief, a place that any skier worth their salt must make the time to visit.

My dad started taking me to Mt. High, when I was about 4. We ski’d on the East Resort my first time. I remember everything perfectly. I had the best teacher ever (Dianna I believe). After that first day, I fell in love with the snow and the atmosphere of Mt. High. I thought I was in love with a mountain as you could get, until I started going to the West Resort. My best friend and I went on Snowflake the entire time, and just threw snowballs at each other. It wasn’t until I began to board that I started to get good, and actually like the sport, not just the environment. From the time I was about 12 to this day, I go to the mountain at least ten times a year. A winter without going to Mt. High would be like a surfer with no ocean. Mt. High has played a huge role in my child hood, and helped shape who i am today, a crazy, fun-loving individual, who lives for the mountain. I wish it could snow year round. Every time I’m on Coyote, or on Express, I think back on my very first day, and remember why I love this mountain, and this sport so much.

I Love Mt High because of the great people that are involved in the staff and also the riders at the mountain. The staff is incredible, and the park team is amazing. Another great thing about the mountain is it is onlt about an hour away from my house (Norco), and is great for short notice trips either night sesh or day. All in all Mt High is the best mountain because it has incredible staff members, and is closer than any other resort. I love my home mountain, MT High!!!!

Home Mountain: Arapahoe Basin, CO

I first skied A-basin when I was three years old in 1986. Ever since then I’ve been hooked. There is no other place like it, at least that I have seen. The terrain is high altitude and north facing mostly, which means the snow stays better longer throughout the winter months. Then spring comes and beach comes alive with people and dogs. BBQ’s, beers, and women in bikini tops. At the basin life is good. It’s a group of misfits, outcasts, and black sheep that come together to form a community of people that love to ski. The powder days are endless with some easily accessible slackcountry skiing. And you can be sure that if you ski Palli chair on any given day, you will find some friends to ski with. I guess in the winter it is as they say, The Universe revolves around Pallivacinni Chair. All around great mountain. Free parking, ski to chair, let your dog play on the beach, ski some incredible terrain, and top of the day with a beer at the A-frame. Good times….

Booking it out of class just to jump in your jammed pack car with your friends, to make it for those last few hours of shredding. Blasting music and occasionally screaming the Friday song at the top of our lungs for giggles and in all seriousness. The exhilaration feeling of getting first chair on the weekends, or dropping in on a feature you’ve never hit before. It’s what we live for and why we go through the pain of falling and sometimes the negative degree weather. It builds memories and friendships. It’s Why I Live Here. Its what i live for and what i wish i could do everyday.

Home Mountain: Mayrhofen, Austria

I had never been on a plane on my own before, let alone catching trains and buses in a foreign country where I didn’t understand a word.
Catching the plane to Innsbruck was the easy part. Then spending 2 hours on public transport as I caught the wrong train was a little harder.
Getting into Mayrhofen the snow was falling hard and I though “This is the life”
The first day of skiing was the best, as it was my first time on real snow. Me and Kelly O’Donnell caught the first lift to the very top of the mountain, and then took my first turns on real snow.
The snow was fresh and felt like I was skiing on butter, it was the dream. We skied all the way to the park, where we met the Summerhayes family and went off with Katie and Molly. The three girls then decided to take me to the top of the steepest run in Europe, the “Hari-kari”. We decided that it was too easy to go down the pisted route, so instead we made fresh lines in the powder. Some bits were so steep that we had to bumslide them…
We must have skied from first lift to last lift, but the time had flown past. It was time for a beer in the bar with Joe Tyler and the Summerhayes.
When we got back to the rooms, I realised how much I had skied that day, and my legs finally caught up with me and gave me the mother of all aches to show how much they had worked aswell.
But it was all worth it as I had literally the time of my life and wouldn’t trade it for anything, maybe a week in Whistler….
